The Yatra: The Documentary crew is proud to announce the addition of Krishna Das to its growing team of award-winning artists.

Nicknamed "Yoga's Rockstar," Krishna Das is a musician best known for fusing traditional Indian melodies with modern instrumentation. With 15 albums to his name, he is the best-selling western chant artist of all-time, and his album Live Ananda was nominated for Best New Age Album at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he also performed live.

The Yatra: The Documentary story is about a team of Indian-American doctors who return to tribal India on a medical mission to serve their nation’s most isolated. Given the story’s East-meets-West theme, Krishna Das—who has spent decades involved in social projects in both America and India—was identified by producers as an ideal musician to contribute to the film’s soundtrack.

Earlier this year, Yatra: The Documentary producer Charly Louise (center-left) and Krishna Das (center-right) connected in Cleveland alongside Yatra medical mission volunteers Dr. Dayaprasad G. Kulkarni and Dr. Rick Friers.
